Pune city is witnessing an increased prevalence of substance abuse, screen addiction and sexually risky behaviour among adolescents. In Maharashtra alone, suicide, drug abuse and alcohol addiction were among the top reasons that claimed the lives of 2,818 persons.

To address the huge challenge of rising addiction to substances, digital screens and sexually risky behaviour that poses a threat to the mental and physical health of the individual as well as the progress of society, Saiyam- Self Awareness In Youth for Anti-Addiction Motive’ (संयम) was launched.

An initiative of the Tarachand Ramnath Seva Trust, in partnership with Jnana Prabodhini’s Institute of Psychology to ensure addictions are stopped even before they take root.

About The Program

The Objectives

  • Developing customised and engaging Training material for Trainers

  • Building Mentoring potential of Teachers and Volunteers

  • Spreading awareness for development of self awareness amongst adolescents.

  • Collaborating with the Government, NGOs, Corporates and individuals

Saiyam has helped me learn the importance of being an Anti-Addict in life. Addiction is dangerous and we were also made aware about the ways we can overcome addiction. We also are aware about the disadvantages of addictions in life and how it spoils our future.
