We initiated the Mahesh Safety Net project with the thought to empower disadvantaged groups of society. It creates a supportive ecosystem for the Maheshwari community, where vulnerable families are supported through emergency cash transfers, soft loans, mentoring, scholarships, and medical services to cushion any economic shock due to natural calamities.

The Impact
Success Story of Mahesh Safety Net
Ashwini Bhutada, a determined mother, raised her two children, Shruti and Viraj, alone after her husband's untimely passing. This unfortunate event placed a substantial financial burden on her, as she had to provide for their family entirely by herself. With an income of just 5-6 thousand rupees per month from her admin job, it appeared to be an incredibly challenging task to cover the costs of her children's education.
How MSN helped?
MSN provided vital educational support and Direct Cash Transfers for two pivotal years. With the collaboration of other Maheshwari organizations, Mahesh Safety Net ensured that the family achieved self-sufficiency, leading to a transformative change in their circumstances.
Shruti pursued an MBA in IT, and Viraj in ceramic engineering, securing prestigious positions at Bosch and a software company in Bangalore, with invaluable mentoring at every step in their educational and career journeys.
Paying It Forward
Their family's financial stability prompted them to cease support from Mahesh Safety Net, enabling the organization to assist other vulnerable families. The Bhutada family, in a remarkable gesture of giving back, initiated free online math classes for Maheshwari youth facing challenges in the subject.
